Field Trip Day and Advent Calendar - Day 3

I have only one thing to say to all of you: TGIF! Today, most of my classes were nearly empty because most of the juniors and seniors were on a field trip. I didn't go; didn't want to. We had a free period in 1st period (British Literature) because over half the class was gone. Three people (out of six) were in second period (yearbook). There were only four of us in pre-calculus and my teacher, Mr. Labbe (pronounced "Labbie"), had to observe another teacher's class that period so we did homework in Mrs. Hall's room that period. We had about half our class in fourth period (philosophy) but Mr. Tracht decided not to give us the quiz we were going to take until Monday. Instead we were going over the questions on the quiz. We didn't get past the fourth question, though, because we got sidetracked and wound up discussing the difference between calling a black person a colored boy and calling a white person of southern culture a redneck (long story, don't ask). The bell rang before the discussion was over. I swear, fourth period needs to be longer. We get into deep discussions like that almost every day and we never have time to finish them. There were only three of us in fifth period (physics). Jessica sat and did homework from other classes and didn't say a word all class period. My friend Amanda and I talked with the sub all period about all kinds of things: what different members of our families are getting for Christmas, tv shows, books (that was mostly me and Mrs. Effie), what we did on Black Friday, whether or not having Black History Month could be considered more racist than not having it (since there are no other history months for any other races that we know of. None of us are racist, btw)...etc. That class period was also way too short. Makes me glad I didn't have to get up at 4:00AM in 30 degree weather just to go on some silly field trip. For once, school was more fun!

On another note, my prizes from today's advent Calendar are as follows: 784NP, a Festive Flower Arrangement (they look suspiciously like poinsettias), and a book called: where is Bonju?

Well, that's all for today!
